Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada is a Movement for girls, led by women. It challenges girls to reach their potential and empowers them to give leadership and service as responsible citizens of the world.

All members of Guiding in Brantford, Burford, Mt. Pleasant, Paris, Scotland and St. George, belong to GRAND DIVISION. We offer fun, friendships, adventure, challenges and opportunities to girls and women from age 5+.

GRAND DIVISION has been active over the past year with a variety of activities:

Last fall we held our annual Division get-together at CAMP TEKA in Paris. Our theme was RAINFOREST ADVENTURE and we celebrated on a glourious hot and sunny day -- not one drop of rain fell in our rainforest. We were welcomed by Buddy the Toucan and we learned about the rainforest through a variety of games, activities, crafts and an exhibit. We sang around the campfire before leaving. It was a SUPER DAY!

Helping in the COMMUNITY is also a fun project. One of the many projects this year was helping with the GLENHYRST FAMILY DAY by preparing play-doh and assisting in the children’s play area.

CAMP TEKA is a great place!

Camp is a super way to have fun with friends and make extra special crafts like the cement stepping stone.

The leaders may call this an exercise in leadership and team work. The girls call it FUN!

Have fun too! In the spring a group of adults attended an event in Toronto “Humm Around the Harbour”, with many other leaders from southern Ontario.

You never know who you will bump into at these events, here a few of our leaders met up with our new Provincial Commissioner, Maggie vanDusen (3^rd from left).

Sometimes you get the opportunity for an extra special trip. Last winter one leader joined a group of leaders from Niagara Area and travelled to India via England. Above is a photo taken at SANGAM, our Guide home in India.
